What the checker looks at
AI search tools only recommend businesses they can read and trust. These are the five areas that decide whether they can.
Can AI reach your site?
Whether your site loads, uses HTTPS, can be indexed, and whether robots.txt lets the ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI crawlers in. Many sites block them by accident.
Search basics
Sitemap, canonical address, page title, description, language and mobile settings. Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT search build on traditional search indexes.
Structured data
Whether your site states its business name, location, contact details, people and FAQs in schema.org markup that machines read directly.
Content AI can use
Clear headings, questions answered in plain language, enough readable text, content that loads without JavaScript, image descriptions and visible contact details.
AI-specific signals
An llms.txt file, social preview tags, signs your content is kept up to date, and a clear About page showing who is behind the business.
What this score can and cannot tell you
The score is a reliable check of whether anything on your website is stopping AI tools from finding and understanding you. It cannot promise that ChatGPT or Google will recommend you: that also depends on your reputation elsewhere, reviews, links, competitors and the exact question asked, and AI answers change from one run to the next. Our full AI visibility audit tests real questions across the main AI tools so you can see where you stand.
Common questions
What does the AI visibility score measure?
It measures how easily AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can reach, read, understand and trust your website. It checks 26 things across five areas: crawler access, search basics, structured data, content AI can use and AI-specific signals such as llms.txt.
Does a high score mean my business will appear in ChatGPT answers?
Not on its own. A high score means nothing on your website is stopping AI tools from finding and understanding you. Whether you are recommended also depends on your reputation elsewhere, reviews, links, competitors and the question being asked, and AI answers change from one run to the next.
Why do I need to verify my email to see the recommendations?
The score is free for everyone. The detailed recommendations are a personalised report, so we confirm a real person asked for it. We email you a 6-digit code, you enter it on this page and the recommendations appear straight away.
What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a short plain-text file at the root of your website, written for AI tools. It summarises who you are, what you do and which pages matter most, so AI systems can understand your site quickly.
Which page does the checker look at?
It checks your home page, plus site-wide files such as robots.txt, llms.txt and your XML sitemap. A full Joomstore AI visibility audit goes further, covering every important page and testing real questions in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI.
